Meet Peter Feige, DD, FCAD
Peter Feige, DD, FCAD is your denture specialist whose training is highly focused on denture fabrication, design and oral health issues. Also, special personal care is taken in all aspects of making dentures that are right for each individual’s needs.
Peter works with the patient every step of the way to recreate a natural and healthy smile, both for today and tomorrow. You can visit directly the Owen Sound or Mount Forest Denture Clinic for treatment of service with free consultation without referral from another health care practitioner. Denturist’s laboratory work is done on premises by “Peter,” who sees the patient chairside.
“Peter Feige, who gave freely of his time and expertise recently with respect and gentleness” and “an amazing man and denturist, Peter Feige spent his entire day and night right before Christmas making Grandpa his teeth. He said Grandpa had to be able to eat his Christmas dinner!” “I have never witnessed such a caring and genuine heart in any service I have dealt with.” These are quotes from some of the recent thank you letters denturist Peter Feige has received. There have been many others over his forty year career.
Peter thanks his parents, who were both dentists, for his career choice and the many skills he learned at an early age. He also gives them credit for his values that make him a caring and sensitive individual, passionate about his profession.
After gaining education and experience from his parents, he practiced under dentists in Markdale, Shelburne and Mount Forest. In the ‘70s he became a licensed denturist at the Royal College of Dentistry in Toronto, at which time he opened his own denture therapy clinic in Mount Forest. For ten years, he operated a clinic in Rockford with his partner. In 1983, he opened the Owen Sound Denture Clinic on 8th Street, where he offers full denture care. With two office assistants, he currently provides service from both the Mount Forest and Owen Sound clinics.
A visit to either clinic will find that Peter’s priority is satisfying the patient. He takes the time to meet the needs of every person who requires denture care. His patients range in age from 40 to 100 and at the age of 100, dentures are supplied free of charge. Peter’s philosophy is that any person who has lived to be 100 deserves that special service.
Since health becomes an increasing concern with age, Mr. Feige stresses the importance of supplying a prompt service and can be found late nights and weekends completing dentures for patients so their lives are not disrupted. His practice also includes regular visits to patients who are housebound, in nursing homes or hospitalized.
Ensuring Outcome and Satisfaction
Your denturist will consult with you about the process involved in designing an accurate denture. During the consultation, you will explain your expectations and lifestyle issues. This critical information will help in the design of your accurate denture.
Your denturist will recommend solutions specific to your new oral condition, functional needs, and esthetic requests.
Standard or Precision Premium Dentures
Standard dentures may fit comfortably and function reasonably well. However, they are constructed using physiological averages on a non-adjustable machine.
Patients who have unusual conditions in their Temporal Mandibular Joint, [jaw joint, (TMJ)], or oral cavities may require additional extensive measurements to accommodate their needs. A precision premium denture provides maximum function during everyday life activities, optimizing the ability to eat, speak or laugh confidently.
Precision premium dentures incorporate extensive measurements of your TMJ as well as your oral cavity. These measurements are transferred to a precise semi-adjustable instrument that closely duplicates the natural movement of your jaw. The measurements allow the denturist to recreate the majority of intricate movements associated with eating. Further measurements guide the denturist in the placement of your teeth for maximum esthetics and speech with your new denture.
The goal in both the standard and premium precision dentures is to replace what is missing from your oral cavity and ensure natural results of your esthetics. Consult with your denturist.
